2.What to Expect

At first, you’ll wash your hands and change into a white coat, just like a real sushi chef.
Next, you’ll watch a short, easy-to-understand English video introducing sushi culture and basic techniques.

Professional sushi chefs will guide you step-by-step as you:
• Grate fresh wasabi
• Shape the rice (shari) into perfect portions
• Add the sliced fish (neta)
• Press lightly to form your sushi
You’ll also make rolls and gunkan sushi.

After you finish, the chefs will treat you to expertly made sushi just for you — so you get to enjoy both your own handmade sushi and the delicious creations of the pros, along with a warm bowl of miso soup.

The sushi-making session takes about 2 hours, and the rest of the tour includes travel time, optional sightseeing, or local shopping.
