Hello! This is Shizuoka TaaS.
Today, we are introducing our new tour course that takes you around Yui area, Shizuoka.
This tour includes Jijiin Temple, Satta mountain Pass, and Tokaido Hiroshige Museum of Art.

Jijiin Temple

Belonging to the Myoshinji sect of the Rinzai sect, this temple is believed to be built around 750 years ago. From inside the temple, visitors can observe the garden depicting mountains and river flows with stones and sand, designed and created by the former head priest Rev. Hakudo.

Inside, there are many ways to explore the world of ZEN.
For example, how about trying “Shakyo”, a Buddhist training of silently copying scriptures with a brush pen. Visitors can also experience “Zazen”, which is a fundamental method of training in Zen Buddhism and a way of meditating deeply in order to enter the spiritual state of nothingness.

Satta Pass

A mountain pass overlooking Mt.Fuji, with a view of Suruga Bay and Izu Peninsula.
The scenery was depicted in “The Fifty-three stations of the Tokaido” (Ukiyo-e) by a Japanese painter called Utagawa Hiroshige, who is said to have had an influence on various Europian artists.

Tokaido Hiroshige Museum of Art

This museum opened in 1994 in Yui Honjin Park.
It is named after Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858), a famous ukiyo-e artist during the Edo period. The exhibitions changes on a monthly basis so that visitors can observe ukiyo-e with a fresh feeling.
